"Matarile Rile Ro" is a Latin American children's rhyme with different versions, but in general consists of kids asking questions to help someone decide what kind of person they want to be. Here it's used to envision/ask what kind of humankind we want to become.
Matarile Rile Ro es una canción infantil con varias versiones, pero en general es usada aquí para preguntarnos quiénes queremos ser como humanidad: más conscientes o más ciegos?
lyrics
MATARILE
Let's play a good dream tonight
Let's imagine that we shine.
Matarile, Matarile Rile-ro.
Let's believe that love is here,
that we can make this dreaming real.
Matarile, Matarile Rile-ro.
I don't know what's in your bag
but I'm not up for justifying:
every choice that I make everyday I know it is affecting your world.
And when you get home tonight,
tell me: will you sleep all night?
Don't you feel it's time to face the monsters we've been piling up at the future's door?
I bet that you wish, just like me,
that we can wake up light and free
on an Earth of clear skies,
free pancakes and happy faces.
But all the time that we postpone
trying to buy happiness instead of getting involved,
the tide keeps rising
and soon will cover children's faces.
Let's play a good dream tonight.
Let's imagine that we shine.
Matarile, Matarile Rile-ro.
Let's believe that love is here (already)
Let's believe that we can win.
Matarile, Matarile Rile-ro.
Now, I don't know what's in your bag
but I'm not exactly up for giving up;
every choice that I make every day I know it is affecting our world.
And I don't care how hard it gets
I will not wait for the hurricane sitting in bed.
I will happily give my last dance
to the smile on children's faces.
So, let's play a good dream tonight...
